Our lab is directed by Dr. Elizabeth Gunderson in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences

Overview

About Us

Our research is devoted to learning about mathematical development throughout life, with a focus on early childhood. Using both cognitive and social perspectives, we hope to better understand the various contributors to mathematical ability. Our participants can range from two-year-olds to adults, though many are in the Pre-K to Elementary School age range.

Research Topics

  • Numerical development
  • Relation between spatial and numerical skills
  • Development of math anxieties and stereotypes
